Ebonheart puppies

Begin the puppy process

A thoughtful match starts with getting to know one another.

What to expect

  1. 1

    Share your home and hopes.

Tell Ebonheart about your lifestyle, experience, and the companion you are looking for.

  2. 2

    Provide references.

    Personal references

All prospective puppy homes must provide five personal references. This has been a mandatory part of Ebonheart Kennel’s screening process for over ten years and is not negotiable.

Reference checks typically involve brief phone conversations to help us better understand your character, personality, and suitability as a lifelong puppy owner. Reference contact information is used solely for screening and is not retained after the checks are completed.

    Veterinary references

Veterinary references help verify that previously owned pets received appropriate veterinary care. You do not need a current veterinarian if you no longer own pets. References from previous veterinary providers are welcome.

If you have never had an established veterinary relationship, simply explain your circumstances in the veterinary reference field.

All screening requirements must be completed before an application can be approved. We appreciate your time and care in helping us find a lifelong home for each puppy.

  3. 3

    Meet and talk.

An in-person or video meet and greet helps make sure the right match is made for both puppy and family.

  4. 4

    Reserve your place.

Approved families may place a non-refundable deposit to reserve a place on the waitlist.

ALL PET PUPPIES MUST REMAIN INTACT UNTIL AT LEAST 18 MONTHS OF AGE. SPAYING OR NEUTERING MUST BE COMPLETED BETWEEN 18 AND 20 MONTHS.

VETERINARY PROOF OF STERILIZATION, INCLUDING THE PROCEDURE DATE, MUST BE PROVIDED TO EBONHEART KENNEL NO LATER THAN THE PUPPY'S 20-MONTH BIRTHDAY.

THIS POLICY IS A CONDITION OF PLACEMENT, NOT AN OPTIONAL RECOMMENDATION.

Our policy is based on our commitment to supporting healthy physical development and preserving naturally occurring reproductive hormones throughout maturation.

Please review our Spay/Neuter Policy & Supporting Veterinary Research before submitting your application.

By applying, you acknowledge that you have read and understand these requirements. Acceptance of these terms is required before puppy placement.

Our requirement for every pet puppy home

Preserving naturally occurring reproductive hormones throughout maturation is central to our placement policy. Every home accepting an Ebonheart pet puppy must agree to keep their puppy intact until at least 18 months, complete spaying or neutering between 18 and 20 months, and provide veterinary proof with the procedure date by their puppy’s 20-month birthday. This is a required condition of placement. The resources below examine sterilization timing, physical development, and associated health outcomes.

Tell us about your home.

Have your eye on a puppy, a particular parent, or a future pairing? Share your preferences below. You are welcome to apply even if you are still deciding.

Please ask your references for permission to share their contact details.

Five personal references are required for every prospective home. This requirement has been firm for over ten years. Checks are brief phone conversations about your character, personality, and suitability as a lifelong puppy owner. Contact details are used only for screening and are not retained once checks are complete.

Provide a current or previous veterinary provider so we can verify care for previously owned pets. You do not need a current veterinarian if you no longer have pets. If you have never had an established veterinary relationship, please explain your circumstances here.

Your application helps us find the right match. All screening requirements must be completed before your application can be approved. A preferred puppy or parent pairing is a request, and does not reserve a puppy.

Payments

Confirm, then pay.

Please wait for Ebonheart to confirm your puppy arrangements or care dates and the amount due before sending a payment.

For Venmo payments marked “Goods and Services,” Ebonheart requires a 4% increase to the agreed amount to cover payment processing costs deducted before we receive your payment. Multiply your agreed amount by 1.04: for example, $100 becomes $104.
