Maverick is a handsome black-tricolor male weighing approximately 20 lbs and standing 15 inches tall. As a second-generation Australian Shepherd and Papillon cross, he represents an important part of our American Moxie foundation breeding program. He has a lean, athletic build, upright ears, a silky coat, and striking blue eyes.

Maverick has an incredibly eager-to-please temperament and a strong desire to work with his handler. He's intelligent, enthusiastic, and highly responsive, always ready for an opportunity to learn or participate in an activity. His natural drive, athleticism, and willingness to work are some of the qualities we value most about him. He can become a little overexcited at times, so we thoughtfully pair him with females who have exceptionally stable, confident temperaments. These pairings are intended to preserve his wonderful working qualities while developing the balanced, adaptable temperament we're working toward in the American Moxie.

As a foundation sire, Maverick contributes several important characteristics we're working toward in our breed standard, particularly his size, structure, trainability, and handler focus. He is also a potential sire of Beretta's Smokin' Guns litter, born November 2, 2026. Individual parentage will be established through DNA testing.
